Each student received a special stuffed animal friend to care for, helping them practice kindness, responsibility, and compassion. By taking care of their new buddy, students are learning what it means to be gentle, thoughtful, and kind to others every day.

DDB’s Sci-Tech Stem night was a big hit!
With Stem Bingo, circuits, magnets and all kinds of building materials. Our book fair stayed open as well to offer to families who couldn’t make it during the day. We had 2 lucky winners from Bingo that received a certificate to use at our book fair. Everyone enjoyed the different games and worked together to discover new things!

Our 21st CCLC After School Clubs Tap Dance Club for Beginners is officially underway, and students are having a blast learning the basics of tap, building rhythm, and making music with their feet. 🎶
This club is all about confidence, coordination, and creativity in a fun, supportive after-school space—no prior dance experience required. We love seeing our dancers grow one step at a time!

This club has been highly successful, super fun, and one of our most popular after-school offerings! Students are learning focus, discipline, and confidence while having an absolute blast. The excitement and enthusiasm each session say it all!

Soccer Try-Outs will be held Monday, February 9th and Tuesday, February 10th after school from 3:30 - 5:00 pm on the DDB soccer field.
Try-Outs are open to 6th, 7th, & 8th grade boys and girls. Please bring cleats and shin guards.

There will be a home game for both girls A & B teams today (2/4). This game was originally scheduled for Thursday but because the girls league tournament has been moved up a day we had to reschedule for today. Girls B will start at 4:00 pm and the girls A team will start at 5:00 pm.
Since it is an early release, students will need to go home at 1:30 and be brought back to the school before their game. I am sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

The Boys Verde Valley League Basketball tournament will be held this Friday, February 6th & Saturday, February 7th at CCS. Dr. Daniel Bright will be hosting the tournament with the accommodations of CCS and their larger gymnasium. All games will be played at CCS.
Entry to get into the tournament is $3.00. CASH ONLY! Children 5 and under will get in for free. There will be a concession stand available.

This morning, our COCSD District Title Team rolled up their sleeves and dug into the winter benchmark reading and math data 📊📚. They took a clear, honest look at school growth and proficiency, making sure we stay focused on what matters most — student progress, growth & proficiency.

The Curiosity Crew Club with Mrs. Montgomery had an amazing semester! Our students dove into hands-on STEM adventures—from extracting DNA from a banana, to using clues to identify different footprints, to building bridges and rockets. They also explored memory challenges and used their senses for exciting discovery activities.
